Elona - -February 2007 - August 23, 2008

Elona has undertaken the big trip over the Bridge to a better place. She was still young, 1,5 years, but her lungs have been badly damaged by myco, there was nothing left for us to do. Elona was a very fine, petite husky rat, with lively black eyes and a springy step. She joined us with her family (Vabbi, Varesh and Istani) in September 2007. Elona was loved all her life, she enjoyed every single minute of it. She was always in the company of the ratties she grew up with and had lots of fun grooming them and playing with them. She loved humans, especially as things to climb on. We will miss her cheeky little face but we made the right decision to let her go.

Elona, we will never forget you.

Elona's quirks:

I used to call her princess - she was such a tiny rattie with the softest fur, all that white shining with a bit of black hair now and then.
Even tho she did not enjoy alpha status (still Vabbi), she often tried to get the other rats underneath her to powergroom them.
Elona had this funny, springy step, never an overweight rat, she almost seemed to float sometimes.
In the evenings, she toured Bunny's t-shirt, apparently she felt safe there.
She had this habit of pushing your fingers away when you tried to cuddle her under a blanket or somewhere. Very determined little darling.
A great digger, always pushing all the litter out of the tray shortly after I had put in new litter. She really enjoyed it :)
